Oh I agree with you, but my point is the same as R13's above your last post. Keeping the kid(s) away from sports for those two reasons are different. I don't think football is that dangerous myself, but it is more understandable than keeping (or disowning) your kid from a sport because it's for sissies? Really? There's not a difference there? It's ignorance.
Soccer is the most played sport across the world, with some of the best athletes in teh world. I won't suggest that they are better athletes than say baseball players, because its impossible to prove and undercuts both sports.
I love the game, its a beautiful game with many many intricacies and amazing moves. Its very very fun to watch, especially if a great team like Spain is playing.
But soccer players are great athletes, to suggest anything else is flat out laughable. They run 7+ miles a game while passing the ball between 10 teammates and 11 foes. Its a game of mere inches, I actually thought that those who are baseballs fans could appreciate something like that, but I guess not.
To compare marathon runners to soccer players is not fair either. Marathon runners just have to run, not play a sport+run.
and I watch EPL games, La Ligra games, etc.. A poser I am not. If you dont like soccer, fine. There is some dramatics and over-selling, but thats strategy to try and draw fouls, just like NBA players do. If you don't enjoy it thats fine, but to suggest its a "sissy" sport or take shots at it is ridiculous. I dont watch NASCAR, but I dont claim those guys arent athletes. Not a huge baseball fan, but I can appreciate the game. Its a shame some are too simple minded to even do that.
Luckily with America's loss in the World Cup, it's GHANA be 4-more years before we have to worry about any more soccer talk. I honestly think my ears bled listening to ESPN Radio over these past 2 weeks.

Its far from over, its just now getting good.
Look at these match ups we get to see.
We get Spain/Portugal tomorrow; then Brazil/Netherlands (OMG I cannot wait for this one), Argentina/Germany on Saturday, etc...
Dont give up because the US is out guys, watch the best teams play and maybe you will start to like it.
Brazil looked good today from what I saw and my VAST knowledge (Yeaaah righhht!) of soccer in other countries but I do like Argentina also!
Brazil was awesome today, no doubts about it.
They dominted a good Chile team. Scored almost at will in the first half then turned it off in the 2nd.
Juan, Robinho and Luis Fabiano scored.
Robinho finally got a goal and that could prove dangerous to the rest of the field. He is super talented and had been in a slump, but now he is scoring and that makes Brazil the best team in the world.
